I will collaborate with you to find creative ways to work through anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, social skills deficits, or communication issues that you may be experiencing in everyday life. I offer individualized, inventive techniques such as mindfulness activities, creative art and writing, movement therapy and therapeutic storytelling, allowing you to personalize your therapy experience. I am now able to provide Brainspotting, an evidence-based modality effective for a wide variety of emotional and somatic conditions. Brainspotting is particularly effective with trauma-based situations, helping to identify and heal underlying trauma that contributes to anxiety, depression and other behavioral conditions. I also incorporate Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, as well as other evidence-based modalities, depending on your needs.
I have a Master of Rehabilitation Counseling (M.R.C.) from Texas Tech University and a Master of Arts in Special Education (M.A.-SpEd) from New Mexico Highlands University. I have worked in the counseling field for five years, in both NM and OR, in a variety of environments. I have worked with school-aged students, young adults, and adults in vocational rehabilitation, and individuals with severe and persistent mental illness in residential and outpatient programs. All of these experiences combined to bring me to the counseling and therapy field, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (#C6460), with the Oregon Board of Licensed Professional Counselors and Therapists. I am proud to provide creative applications of therapy tailored to you.
