Karissa Gregory, LPC Associate

As a dedicated mental health professional with experience in both healthcare and academia, it is my mission to deliver ethical, evidenced-based treatment services to each client with whom I work. I have experience with multicultural counseling, group processes and dynamics, career planning, addictions counseling, and crisis and trauma response. I specialize in women’s issues, mood disorders, ADHD, school issues, anger management, insomnia, grief/loss, and sex-related concerns including addiction and trauma. I am LGBTQQIP2SAA-allied.

My therapeutic orientation draws on Cognitive Behavioral and Dialectal Behavioral Therapeutic interventions, as well as motivational interviewing, strengths-based, solution-focused, and mindfulness approaches. It is a profound experience to feel seen, heard, and understood. Further, I posit that every client has the ability to draw on his or her own strengths to attain meaningful and lasting change. I am here to support clients throughout this process by cultivating a strong sense of self-worth and self-compassion by challenging unhelpful and unwanted cognitive distortions and core beliefs.

I am committed to a lifetime of learning, and I remain current in the practice of counseling by participating in professional development workshops and engaging in weekly consultation and supervision.
